(Sophomore): Welsch
appeared in 21 matches and missed 12 due to injury...was the Tars new starting
libero and finished the season with 332 digs...was well on her way to recording
her first 30+ dig match against Flagler (10/16) but missed the final set with
injury (finished with 25 digs)...recorded seven double-doubles...ranked second in
the conference in digs per set with 4.26...posted career-highs in six statistical
categories: kills (17), total attacks (57), assists (4), service aces (3), digs
(28) and blocks (5)...finished the season averaging 1.86 kills, 0.26 service aces
and 0.23 blocks per set.
2011 (Freshman): Vital member of the Tars defense ranking second in digs on the team with 405, while averaging 3.12 a set (10th in the SSC)...had the game-winning kill on two occasions this season, the first against Eckerd in a five-setter and the second against Florida Southern, also in a five-set thriller...only freshman to start and appear in all 35 matches and 130 sets...tallied 16 double-doubles, including a career-high 15 kills and 26 digs against Nova Southeastern (11/12)...recorded 19 matches in double-figure kills and 23 double-figure digs...tied career-high three blocks twice, last against North Alabama (11/17) in the first round of the NCAA South Region Tournament...averaged 2.30 kills, 3.12 digs, 0.22 service aces, and 0.20 blocks per set...named to SSC Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll.
High School: Member of the four-time regional runner-up Blue Wave of PK Yonge Developmental Research School...named All-Area all through her high school career...career highlight came against Berkley Prep during senior season where she recorded 27 kills...also lettered in basketball, soccer, and softball...played for the Gainesville Juniors, GJAC, GAC, and Blue Lightning...a three-time open AAU All-American.
