WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 9, 2011)- The Rollins men's and women's soccer teams have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom with both programs earning the 2011 NSCAA Team Academic Award, it was announced Thursday.
Rollins is one of 154 programs that featured both of their programs with a 3.0 or higher culmative team GPA. The men posted a 3.28 term GPA with an overall GPA of 3.19, while the women posted a 3.34 term GPA and a near perfect 3.92 overall mark. On the field, both teams enjoyed success with both earning bids into the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. Justin Clark was named the men's Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Year while Michelle Dillingham on the award on the women's side. Alicia Milyak was named the women's South Region Coach of the Year.
The Rollins athletic department has obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the last 20 straight semesters.
