WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 16, 2012) - For her play in a SSC series sweep of the Lions of Saint Leo, senior Monica Meadows was billed as the SSC Player of the Week for the second time. Her first Player of the Week honor came back on March 5th of this year for her efforts in a week where the Tars went 5-1, including a win over then top-ranked Alabama-Huntsville.
Meadows batted .556 to lead the No. 14 Tars over Saint Leo to go along with nine RBI and six runs scored. She hit safely in each game of the series, including two multi-hit games.
Her most notable performance came in a 9-0 win in the series opener, where she belted two home runs en route to a five-RBI performance. She also homered in game two of the series to increase her already team leading total to eight, three more than the next closest Tar.
The senior from Daphne, Alabama also amassed a 1.667 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage in the series, as well as being flawless in the field.
