The Tars took command early and used a hot Scott Schuette to lead 22-9 after the first 11 minutes. Tech slowly started to chip away and pulled to within 32-27 with 98 seconds to play in the half, before a Dave Diakite 3-pointer was followed with a Helleman jumper on the other end at the one-minute mark.

Malcolm had a huge block in the final five seconds, but the Tars last shot at the buzzer went begging and they took a 35-29 lead into the locker room.

The Panthers scored the first eight points of the second half and took their first lead, 37-35 with 18:46 to play. Rollins answered and was able to rebuild its lead to 50-45 at the 9:02 mark.

Rollins would then only score six more points the rest of the way while Tech tacked on 26 and spoiled the Tars home finale.
