WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 22, 2012) - Hosting Florida Tech in a Sunshine State Conference match, ninth-ranked Rollins was leading FIT 4-1 when a severe thunderstorm passed through Central Florida and halted play.
The match will be completed at a later date.
Lucas Jovita and Jason Alabaster beat Barry Dylewski and Michael Schmidt 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Jeff Morris and Malte Christesen teamed to down Beau Fieldsend and Daniel Armellino 8-3 in the No. 3 match.
Rollins flexed its muscles in singles play, winning the top two flights by shutout and leading in the other four matches.
Top-ranked Jovita beat Dylewski 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 match while 11th-ranked Morris blacked James Mclane 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
Christesen Ari Davis, Constantin Sturdza, and Alabaster were each leading when the skies opened up.
Rollins will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Saint Leo.
