Rollins Stays Hot at Caribbean Intercollegiate; Tied for First

PONCE, Puerto Rico (March 5, 2012) - The Rollins men's golf team continue its hot streak in the 2012 spring season, opening the St. John's University Caribbean Intercollegiate with a 285 to tie with the host atop the leaderboard.

The tournament is being played at the Costa Caribe Resort in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

The Tars and Red Storm hold a four-shot lead over third place Old Dominion while USC Update (291) and Laval University (292) round out the top-five.

Spencer Cole and Tyler Sluman lead Rollins as each fired two-under rounds of 70. Davis Hall is tied for eighth after an even par-72 first day while Scott Lamb is a shot back in a tie for 13th. Hunter Stone shot a 74 and is tied or 20th.

The Tars will go for the title Tuesday in the final round.
