MAITLAND, Fla. (March 13, 2012) - On Saturday, men's crew took to the waters of Lake Maitland in their second home regatta of the season and swept all events,  beating out Villanova, Embry-Riddle and Florida State.

The morning started off with a commanding win in the men's varsity 8 (Eric Pagan, Nick Pittari, Kip Zimmerman, Rob Spolsino, Ali Hakim, Brian Burch, David Rice, Mitch Verboncoeur, Tim Mazzotta) with a time of 5:54.6.  The varsity 8 set the tone for the day as Rollins did not allow the windy conditions to hamper their performance.

"The past few weekends have proved that our teams are handling rough water very well so far," said head coach Shawn Pistor

Rollins jumped out to early leads in all of their races and did not let up until the finish line, posting some of their best times of the season thus far.

"We are still a month away from our state and southern championships" added Pistor.  "We still have speed in us and time to get there which is a good position to be in."

The men's crew will conclude their home slate this weekend at the Rollins Invitational against Wesleyan, Army, Florida, Central Florida and Embry-Riddle.  The race is set to start at 8 a.m.  For more information, check out the Tars Sports Network at
