WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 27, 2012) - Coming off a breakout 2012 season, the 25th-ranked Rollins men's golf team earned a bid into the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Region Tournament, it was announced Friday.
The Tars are one of 20 teams competing at the tournament, hosted by Lenior-Rhyne at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, North Carolina.
Nova Southeastern, Barry and Lynn headline the teams from the South Region. North Alabama, West Florida and Florida Southern are also seeded ahead of the Tars with Florida Tech, Eckerd and Valdosta State rounding out the field.
UNC Pembroke, USC Aiken and Georgia College are the top-ranked teams in the Southeast Region. Wingate, Georgia Southwestern and Armstrong Atlantic make up the middle of the field with Carson-Newman, Baron, Columbus State and Coker completing the field.
The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals May 15-19, at The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Kentucky as part of the 2012 Division II Spring Championships Festival. The Festival will be hosted by Bellarmine University and the Louisville Sports Commission.
