FELLSMERE, Fla. (April 29, 2012) - Rollins women's crew took third place at the 2012 Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Championship held at Canal 54 in Fellsmere, Fla.

Rollins tallied 10 points on the day, one point behind second Barry (11).  Nova Southeastern captured their fifth conference title with 20 points.

The 2012 championship began with a pair of timed trials that saw Rollins finish fourth in the Varsity 8 (7:47) and third in the Varsity 4 (8:19).

Facing strong headwinds, Rollins added some seconds to their time in the Varsity 4 Final and finished third with a time of 8:58.10 for four points.  Nova Southeastern finished first in the event with an 8:12.30.

Rollins faced Tampa in the Varsity 8 Petite Final and topped UT (8:25.00) by 16 seconds with a time of 8:08.70 for six points.

The Rollins women's crew will take to the waters on May 11 for the Dad Vail Championships held in Philadelphia, Pa.
