WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 1, 2012) - Senior Fabia Rothenfluh and freshman Kayla Sciupider both earned spots on Sunshine State Conference teams, it was announced Tuesday.
Rothenfluh landed the second team after a solid senior campaign. She leads the Tars with a 77.58 stroke average and has five top-20 finishes on the year. Her best event came in March, tying for ninth at the University of Richmond Invitational. Rothenfluh started the year by tying for 11th at the Western Carolina Great Smokies Collegiate, carding a season-low round of 72.
Sciupider, named Honorable Mention, made an immediate impact in her first season with the Tars, carrying a 77.75 stroke average. She has a pair of top-10 finishes on the year, taking runner-up honors at the Richmond Invitational with an 11-over 227. She led Rollins at the Sunshine State Conference Invitational, finishing seventh.
Rollins will next compete at the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament May 6-8 in Pensacola.
