INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 6, 2012) - For the first time in program history, Rollins women's lacrosse earned a bid into the NCAA Division II Championship, it was announced Sunday. The Tars are the No. 1 seed from the South Region and received a bye into the national semifinal.

Rollins (15-1) will meet the winner of Limestone and West Chester on May 17

at 11 a.m. in Louisville. The tournament is part of the NCAA Division II Spring Sports Festival, hosted by Bellarmine University.

LeMoyne is the top-seed on the other side of the bracket and will play the winner of Adelphi and C.W. Post.

The national championship game is slated for May 19 at 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on NCAA.com.

In just its fifth-year as a varsity sport, the Tars have enjoyed increased success since the first season. In 2012, Rollins won the first 15 games of the season, beating six nationally ranked teams along the way, including giving Limestone its only loss of the year.

Rollins' only blemish is a 14-13 road loss to Regis in the last game of the season.

Fans can follow the Tars tournament run live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
