HERSHEY, Pa. (September 7, 2012) - A quartet of Rollins alumnae, including 2011 defending champion Terri Frohnmeyer, will compete at the 2012 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur on Sept. 8-13.
The U.S. Senior Women's Amateur will be held on Hershey Country Club's West Course.
Representing Rollins at this weekend's event are three-time champion Marlene Stewart Streit (1985, 1994, 2003), Laura Carson, Connie Shorb and Frohnmeyer. The 2011 defending champion was named the 2011 Oregon Golf Association Golfer of the Year and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association Senior Women's Golfer of the Year.
Frohnmeyer won the 2011 edition of the tournament on the 17th hole after making a routine par to halve the hole and win the match over Mina Hardin.
The USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship is open to female amateurs who have reached their 50th birthday by Sept. 8 and who have a USGA handicap not exceeding 18.4.
