WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 26, 2012) - Behind a second half goal by redshirt sophomore Brenna McKee, Rollins pulled even in conference play with a 1-0 shutout of visiting Florida Tech Wednesday evening.
Returning home after a road win at Florida Southern last week, the Tars welcomed the Panthers to Winter Park hoping to even their record at 1-1 in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, McKee stepped in front a clearance attempt by the FIT defense in the 55th minute, collected it at the top of the box and fired it past Panther keeper Paige Redmon. It was McKee's third goal of the season after sitting out all of 2011 due to injury.
Rollins dominated possession all evening long, taking 14 shots compared to four for FIT.
In goal, Tars keeper Mary Spring picked up her second clean sheet of the season, registering a save while playing all 90 minutes.
The Tars will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 29 when they travel to Tampa. Kickoff is set for 5 pm. Fans can follow along with all the action live on the Tars sports network at RollinsSports.com.
