NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 3, 2012) - After a pair of successful outings to start the season, the Rollins women's golf team jumped six spots and are now ranked fifth in the latest Golf World/WGCA Division II College Women's Coaches Poll, it was announced Wednesday.
Rollins, ranked 11th in the preseason, began the year with a sixth-place showing at the season-opening Louisville Cardinal Cup. The Tars were the only Division II school in the field. Rollins then took the tournament title at the Daytona State Lady Falcon Invitational in Daytona Beach. Freshman Annie Dulman was also the individual tournament medalist.
Taking the top spot in the national poll is defending NCAA champion Nova Southeastern. The Sharks claimed all 19 first-place votes. In second place, moving up two spots, was St. Edward's University, followed by Lynn in third and Barry in fourth.
The fifth-ranked Tars will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 8 as they compete in the Guy Harvey NSU Shark Invitational, which will take place at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.
