PALM BEACH GARDEN, Fla. (October 8, 2012) - Sitting 11 strokes behind defending NCAA champion Nova Southeastern, the fifth-ranked Rollins women's golf team currently sits in second at the Guy Harvey Invitational held at the PGA National Resort and Spa.
The No. 1 NSU Sharks lead the way after the first day of competition with a one-round score of 290. Rollins, sitting in second, is five strokes ahead of third-place Barry (306), while Florida Tech stands in fourth with a 309 and Florida Southern in fifth with a 310.
The Rollins women played a close game as freshman Annie Dulman leads the way with an even-par 72. Kayla Sciupider tied for 12th as she carded a 3-over-par 75, while Elin Marcsdottir finished day one one-stroke behind Sciupider with a 4-over-par 76.
Momo Sakuragi tied for 25th with a 78 and Clara Teixeira, in her first tournament of the season, carded a 79.
Competing individually was Kristen Garabedian with a 79 to tie her for 29th, Jennifer So with an 87 and Kelly Krusoe with a 92.
Play at the Guy Harvey Invitational will continue Tuesday, Oct. 9 with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
