PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (October 9, 2012) - The Rollins women's golf team shot seven strokes better than the previous day and wrapped up the Guy Harvey Invitational in second place. The Tars have now recorded two top-five finishes this fall with one remaining tournament on their slate.
The Tars had the best second round score of 294 in the 15-team tournament field and were six strokes back of host-Nova Southeastern, who took home their fifth straight title. The Sharks shot a two-round score of 589, after carding a low opening round of 290 the day before.
Also finishing in the top five were Florida Southern in third (612), Barry in fourth (616) and Lynn in fifth (620).
Capturing her second straight tournament title was freshman Annie Dulman. The Palm Beach Gardens native shot a low-round of 70 to finish with a 2-under-par 142. Finishing in the top five with Dulman was Kayla Sciupider. The sophomore shot two strokes better than yesterday carding a 73 for a two-round score of 148.
In her first tournament of the season, Clara Teixeira finished 18th with a 153 (79-74). Elin Marcdottir turned in a score of 154 to tie her for 19th, while Momo Sakuragi tied for 23rd with a 155.
The second-ranked Tars will compete in one more tournament to conclude their fall schedule as they head to Buies Creek, N.C. for the Campbell Fighting Camel Classic. Tournament play is set for Oct. 22-23.
