KILLEN, Ala. (October 16, 2012) - Scott Lamb turned in a score of 71 on the final day of the TVA Credit Union Invitational hosted by the University of North Alabama to lead the Tars to a second place showing with a team total of 866.
Rollins shot a second-best third round score of 289 to finish six strokes behind leader and champion North Alabama. The Lions carded a score of 282 and finished four strokes under par.
Columbus State, Monday's leader, finished one stroke behind the Tars with a three-round score of 867, while Clayton State took fourth with an 870. Carson-Newman College took fifth with an 895 to round out the top five.
Junior Tyler Sluman used a final round score of 69 to lift him to a tie for seventh with an even par 216. Davis Hall remained in a tie for 12th with a 2-over-par 218 (73-72-73) while Charlie Fitzgerald tied for 32nd with a 226. Thomas Gouveia carded a 77 in his final round for a 233.
The Tars will wrap up the 2012 fall schedule with their own McDonough Cup on Oct. 29-30. Originally the Rollins College Invitational, the Tars will honor former golfer James McDonough who passed away in 2011.
