WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 20, 2012) - The Rollins men's soccer team picked up their sixth win in a row Saturday night, beating Nova Southeastern on the road, 2-0.
The Tars led basically throughout the contest, taking the early one goal lead in just the third minute. Sophomore Rob Crowley found himself alone in the box and blasted a shot past Sharks keeper Andrea Giombetti. The goal was Crowley's team leading seventh of the year.
The score would stay 1-0 in favor of the Tars deep into the second half until Tars' freshman Phillip Shehan added his second goal of the season in the 77th minute. The play was setup by fellow freshman Grant Blackhurst when Blackhurst slid past Giombetti as he came too far out of the box, then found Shehan who buried it for the goal.
Tars keeper Keneil Baker registered one save on his way to his 21st shutout in his career, good for second most all time at Rollins.
The Tars will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 23 when they travel to Palm Beach Atlantic. Fans can follow along with all the action live on the Tars sports network at RollinsSports.com.
