WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 22, 2012) - Sophomore Brenna McKee was named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week presented by VALIC, it was announced on Monday.
McKee led the Tars to a 2-0 week, tallying five points in a pair of road victories, including a 2-1 win at Eckerd that helped lift the Tars to the SSC regular-season title, their third in program history and first since 2009. In that contest, McKee assisted on the game-winning goal in the 66th minute.
She then scored two goals in a 3-0 win at Nova SE in a non-conference matchup. McKee found the back of the net in the seventh minute and extended the Tars' lead with another scoring tally in the 60th minute.
"Brenna has been outstanding in the attack for us this season," Head Coach Alicia Milyak Schuck added.
"Her decision making and creativity in the final third is some of the best attack I've seen all season. With this recognition, Brenna's confidence will continue to grow as we close out our regular season and prepare for post season play."
McKee, the native off Austin, Texas, leads the Tars in both goals (8) and assists (6).
The Tars finish up their regular season Saturday, Oct. 27th when they host Florida Southern. Fans can follow along with all the action live on the Tars sports network at RollinsSports.com.
