KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 30, 2012) - Finishing on a tear, winning eight in a row to close out the regular season, Rollins continues to climb the national rankings heading into the SSC tournament, up four spots in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire polls to 11th.
In a fitting send off for senior Daniel Salazar on senior night, the Tars most recently defeated Florida Southern handily last Saturday evening, 6-2.
Much like their last meeting back on Sept. 19 when the Tars dominated the Mocs 5-0, the Tars jumped out to the early lead and never looked back. A pair of freshman, Grant Blackhurst and Brett Durrance each added a pair of goals in the win.
The top three remained unchanged this week, with Regis at No. 1 followed by LIU Post and Simon Fraser. The University of Charleston at No. 4 and Rockhurst at No. 5 each moved up a spot to round out the top-five.
The Tars will play Florida Tech in the SSC tournament quarterfinal Tuesday, Oct. 30 with kickoff set for 7 pm. If you can't make it to the game, you can listen live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
