TEMPE, Ariz. (July 25, 2017) – Led by an impressive eight players earning ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, Rollins women's tennis was named an ITA All-Academic Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Teams with combined GPA's above 3.2 for the 2016-17 academic year were honored by the ITA for their work in the classroom. The Tars women's tennis program posted the highest GPA in the department.  The team earned a 3.71 GPA in the spring semester, retaining the Athletic Communications Director's Team GPA Trophy for the fourth consecutive year.

Graduate Shannon Etten is accompanied on the list of Scholar Athletes by junior Fabiana Vitanza, a trio of sophomores, Savanna Fuller, Carlye Goldman, and Teresa Kaiser, and a trio of freshmen, Alexandra Borg, Katie Dyson, and Alyvia Kluska. The Tars eight honorees is a tie for the most among Sunshine State Conference schools.  Student-Athletes must be letter winners and have a GPA above 3.5 for consideration as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Tars climbed as high as No. 27 in the country during their 2017 campaign.  Rollins finished fourth in the SSC Tournament.

Joining Rollins on the list are conference members Barry, Embry-Riddle, Florida Tech, Florida Southern, Lynn, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo, and Tampa.
