WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 18, 2012) - Rollins, ranked 12th in Division II, enters the 2012 Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Championship as the No. 4 seed and will meet No. 5 Nova Southeastern in the quarterfinals Thursday.
Barry University is serving as the tournament host at the Beerman Tennis Complex in Lakeland.
The Tars went 11-9 overall and 4-4 in SSC play during the season, using a three-match winning streak late in the season to get above .500. NSU upset Rollins earlier in the season, 5-4, in Winter Park. Conference wins came against Tampa, Saint Leo, Florida Tech and Eckerd.
Rollins started the season as the ninth-ranked team in Division II and have been hampered by injuries throughout. Lisa Loft enters the tournament as the 46th-ranked singles player in the nation playing in the top flight. Ashley Rosenberg moved up to the second-position and went 5-3 in conference play to also highlight the Tars season.
