WINTER PARK, Fla. (July 11, 2012) - The Rollins softball team will host its annual Showcase in the fall; it was announced by Head Coach Michelle Frew. This fall, there will be two dates for participants to choose from, Saturday, September 15^th or Sunday, September 16^th.

The Showcase is designed for any 9-12 graders who have an interest in adding to their competitive experience. Participants will be involved in various skill workouts facilitated by the Rollins softball players and coaching staff, and then will have the opportunity to showcase their skills during live games scheduled throughout the day. Showcase participants will be led by Rollins players and coaches at the Rollins Softball Stadium at Lake Island Park, one of the best collegiate softball facilities in the South Region. Players and their families will also take a guided tour of the Rollins campus with admissions staff. This event does fill up and people have been turned away the past three years. Eleven current Rollins players have participated in this event in the past.

Rollins established itself as one of the nation's premier softball programs having captured three of the last four Sunshine State Conference Championships. Since their championship run began, the Tars are a combined 180-31 overall, while also posting an 82-13 record in conference play. The Tars have averaged 40+ wins for the past eleven years and has been ranked in the national top 25 every week since March 2010. The success has translated to six consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament, which is the longest such streak among all Florida teams.
