WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 12, 2013) - Looking to build upon momentum from a one point win to open their season last Friday, the Tars did just that in the way of an 8-1 win over Embry-Riddle on Tuesday afternoon.

The doubles pairing of Elissa Decampli and Ashley Rosenberg fell to Kristina Marova and Hui Huang, the number four ranked doubles team in NAIA, 8-4 but the Tars rebounded to win each of the two other doubles matches and swept all five singles matches.

Ashley Loft and Callie Whitlock defeated Paola Montero and Giovanna Tamiotto, 8-6 to get things started for Rollins in No. 2 doubles followed by an 8-5 win by Carli Davis and Mariana Salvador over Ana Gonzalez and Meena Bennett in the No. 3 spot.

In singles, Decampli scored the upset, defeating No. 4 ranked singles player Marova 6-0, 3-6, 6-4. Rosenberg defeated Huang 6-1, 6-4 while Davis beat Montero 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 3 flight, which proved to be the clincher.

Salvador, Whitlock and Emma Wookey all took care of business as well in the No. 4-6 slots.

Rollins will be back in action Thurs. Feb. 14 in a scrimmage vs. the State College of Florida. Play is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
