WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 3, 2013) – The 12th ranked Tars rebounded after suffering their first home loss of the season last week, defeating 20th ranked Florida Tech on Wednesday afternoon, 7-1.

Rollins blew through doubles play to open the match, sweeping all three matches including Ashley Loft and Callie Whitlock’s fourth win in a row as a pair as they defeated Charlotte Fahnehjelm Abbey Keister, 8-6, in the No. 2 spot.

Elissa DeCampli and Ashley Rosenberg improved to 10-6 as a team, defeating Kristina Huba and Stephanie Dohner, 8-3, in No. 1 doubles while Carli Davis and Mariana Salvador defeated Katie Close and Chloe Chanley in the No. 3 slot, 8-5, to improve to 13-2 as a duo.

The Tars went on to take four out of the five singles matches as well, dropping only the No. 1 match as DeCampli fell to Huba, who is ranked fifth in Division II, 6-1, 7-5.

A. Loft won her fourth singles match in a row in the No. 6 spot, defeating Keister 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Whitlock and Fahnehjelm were tied 1-1 in the third set in the No. 5 match but rain caused the match to be suspensed as Rollins had already clinched the match.

The Tars will be back in action on Saturday, Apr. 6 at home against Barry. Play is set to begin at 10 a.m.
