WINTER PARK, Fla. (June 20, 2013) - Known for competing against some of the biggest programs in the country, the Rollins women's golf team continues the historic trend as head women's golf coach Julie Garner announces her fall schedule for the 2013-14 seaon.  Rollins features a pair of SEC tournaments to begin the Tars' quest for the program's 13th national title.
Garner and the fourth-ranked Tars kickoff the season in the Lone Star State at the "Mo"morial, hosted by Texas A&M University.  The season opener is slated for September 9-11 in Bryan, Texas.  The following weekend, Rollins will head to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Tennessee on September 20-22.
"We are excited about our fall tournament schedule as we have the opportunity to compete in two events hosted by SEC schools.  The "Mo"morial and the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate are both new events for us; playing in those tournaments will be a great way to kick off the season," said head coach Julie Garner.
Two weeks later, the Tars will compete at the Guy Harvey Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern on October 7-8.  Rollins will have a glance of what's to come at the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Championship with most of the competition at the Guy Harvey hailing from the SSC.
Wrapping up the fall schedule will be a trip to Delware as the No. 4 Tars compete in the University of Delaware Blue Hen Invitational on October 26-27.
"Delaware's event will be a special event for Clara (Teixeira) as her sister will be competing for the Blue Hens this year," added Garner.
"As usual, our players need to be disciplined and focused with their academic workloads, along with our high expectations for practice and competition. I am confident they will be up to the challenges on and off the course."
