WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (January 31, 2014) – The ninth ranked Rollins Tars will open their Spring season on Saturday, traveling to PBA. Match is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

The Tars lost just one member from last year’s team, a squad that finished 13-10 overall and finished third in the SSC before falling in the South Regional first round to Saint Leo.

Among the returners is the 2013 ITA National Rookie of the Year, Robin Marchione. Marchione opens 2014 as Rollins’ top ranked singles player at No. 23 in the ITA preseason rankings released back in November.

Senior Jason Alabaster also returns and opens at No. 34 in Division II in singles and junior Malte Christesen is right behind him at No. 38.

In doubles, the team of Alabaster and Will Kwok are ranked fifth and Marchione and Christesen open at No. 20.

Head coach Ron Bohrnstedt is in his 11th season at the helm and is in search of his 10th appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament. He has finished third in the SSC twice, runner-up once, and won his only conference title back in 2004.
