MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (May 5, 2014) – In a rematch of last week’s SSC Tournament semifinal, the sixth-seeded Tars drew third-seeded Lynn in the NCAA South Region II Semifinal on Monday, eventually falling, 5-1.

Rollins’ season ends with a record of 12-11 while Lynn improves to 16-6 and will face Barry in the South Region Final on Tuesday.

Making their NCAA record 31st NCAA Postseason appearance, the Tars fell behind, 2-1, after doubles, picking up a point in the No. 3 match when Robin Marchione and Adrian Di Felice beat Tomas Prokop and Alessio Iannozzi, 8-6.

Lynn extended their lead to 3-1 with a win in the top-flight singles match but the Tars continued to battle, leading at one point in four of the five matches still in play.

Unfortunately, the Fighting Knights came back to win the No. 3 match to push their lead to 4-1 before finally clinching the match when #49 Daniel Riggs knocked off #48 Marchione, 7-5, 6-4, in the No. 2 match.

Tars’ seniors, Jason Alabaster, Ari Davis and Cooper Maxwell, end their careers with a four-year record of 59-39 and four-straight trips to the NCAA posteason.
