LAKELAND, Fla. (February 14, 2017) – Rollins shot a final round 291 on Tuesday to finish the Matlock Invitational tied for ninth place.

The seventh-ranked Tars were seven over for the tournament with rounds of 293-287-291 (871).

Will Hall jumped seven spots on the final day to tie for 22nd and led Rollins. The sophomore posted a one-under 71 under gray skies Tuesday to finish the tournament at even par 216 (75-70-71).

Sam Grindle was a stroke behind Hall and finished tied for 26th. The fellow underclassman turned in scores of 71-73-73 (217) at the event. Barry Babbitt finished three-over tied for 39th with 219 (73-72-74) shots.

Jakob Van de Flierdt was alone in 42nd place, shooting scores of 74-73-73 (220) and Collin Engelhardt tied for 43rd with a six-over score of 222 (76-72-74).

West Florida won the tournament in a runaway, firing a 34-under 830 for an 18-shot lead over Nova Southeastern (848). Lynn (-13) and Barry (-12) took third and fourth, respectively. The tournament field featured seven of the top eight ranked teams in the nation and all but one of the 15 received votes in the latest national poll.

Rollins next heads to Valdosta, Georgia to play in the Southeastern Intercollegiate at Kinderlou Forest March 12-14.
