WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 16, 2017) – Rollins picked up their first dual meet win of the season in dominating fashion, besting Arkansas-Fort Smith 8-1.  With the win the Tars improve to 1-1 on the year, while the Lions fall to 0-1 with the loss.

The Tars swept the doubles matches on the afternoon.  Patrick Sell and Sami Kirberg, who came in ranked No. 7 in the nation, controlled their match from the outset, capturing an 8-1 victory.  Francesco Racanelli and Ziad Melhaoui picked up a 8-3 win over Levi Cook and Brady Kenyon.  Playing out of the third position Daniel Ferl and Cody Gubin downed Luke Anderson and Melle Van Dujin 8-5.

The Tars supremacy continued into the singles matches.  Sell strolled to a 6-0, 6-4 win in the first position, moving him to 2-0 on the year in singles play.  Racanelli did not lose a game in the second spot, winning 6-0, 6-0 over Anderson.  Melhaoui, Kirberg, and Gubin all picked their first singles wins of 2017.

The Tars go on the road to open Sunshine State Conference play.  Rollins travels to Melbourne, Florida to take on Florida Tech, the match is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
