POINT LOMA, Claif. (March 15, 2017) – The Tars end their California trip with a loss to the Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions.  With the loss the Tars fall to 6-8 and 0-3 on their latest road trip.  The Sea Lions improve to 9-5 on the year.

Point Loma was able to gain an advantage in doubles play, taking two out of the three matches.  Fabiana Vitanza and Alexandra Borg tallied the lone Rollins win out of the first positions.  The pair defeated Regina Von Koch and Nikki Newell, the No. 23 doubles pair in the country, 8-6.

The Tars could not muscle their way back into the match, winning only two of the six singles matches.  Carlye Goldman saw victory in the third spot, besting Von Koch in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.  Savanna Fuller won a first set tiebreak and went on to capture a straight sets win over Taylor McGowan 7-7 (7-5), 6-3.

The Tars return home for a pair of non-conference matches.  First Rollins hosts West Virginia State on Tuesday, March 21, followed by a match against Division I Murray State on Wednesday, March 22.
