CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (July 5, 2017) – A pair of Rollins women's golfers were honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association as All-American Scholars, it was announced Wednesday.
Lyle left Rollins as one of the more decorated student-athletes in the program's history. Along with playing in four NCAA Division II National Championships, she was named Scholar All-American all four years and was a member of the Sunshine State Conference and Rollins Athletic Director's Honor Rolls every semester. The Orlando native earned the Pi Sigma Alpha award for excellence in Political Science and passion for public service. Lyle posted a 76.68 stroke average her senior year with three top-five finishes, and completed her career with a 76.81 stroke average over 131 colligate rounds.
Timur made an immediate splash in her first year with Rollins, earning a top GPA and majoring in International Business. She was named to the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll in the spring '17 semester and as well as the Rollins Athletic Director's Honor Roll during the year. Timur earned a 76.86 stroke average in 35 rounds this season.
Rollins won a pair of tournaments during the 2016-17 season, culminated with a sixth-place finish in the NCAA Division II National Championship.
