PONCE, Puerto Rico (March 7, 2012) - Rollins started the day one stroke back of host St. John's, but finished atop the leaderboard as the Tars posted a victory at the Caribbean Intercollegiate Wednesday. The victory is Rollins' second-straight and marks the fourth time in seven events this season the Tars finished in the top-three.
Rollins started strong with a 285 on Monday to sit tied with the Red Storm for first. SJU was one better than the Tars Tuesday (287-288), but Rollins stayed consistent with a 286 Wednesday to finish with 859 strokes.
St. John's (866) was runner-up, followed buy USC Upstate (877) and Laval University (878).
Spencer Cole led four Tars in the top-10 with a third place finish. The veteran turned in scores of 70-72-71 to total with 213 strokes.
Hunter Stone had a career-best round of 66 on Wednesday and vaulted 16 spots on the final day, finishing in fourth place (74-75-66-215).
Rollins will be back in action March 12-13 at the Southeastern Intercollegiate, hosted by Valdosta State at Kinderlou Forest.
