TEMPE, Ariz. (July 25, 2017) – The Rollins men's tennis team was honored for its work in the classroom, earning the distinction of ITA All-Academic Team, it was announced Tuesday. Individually, four Tars were named to the national list of ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Teams with combined GPA's above 3.2 for the 2016-17 academic year were honored by the ITA. The Tars' men earned a 3.49 GPA in the spring semester, helping the department to its 32nd straight semester with a combined GPA above 3.0.

Graduate Ahmed Albitar joined senior captain Patrick Sell, and sophomores Daniel Ferl and Francesco Racanelli as ITA Scholar-Athletes.  Student-Athletes must be letter winners and have a GPA above 3.5 for consideration as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Tars reached as high as No. 28 in national polls this season.  Rollins earned a fourth place finish in the Sunshine State Conference Championship, and a berth in the NCAA South Regional.

The Tars are joined on the list by fellow SSC schools Barry, Embry-Riddle, Florida Tech, Florida Southern, Lynn, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Saint Leo.
