WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (March 14, 2017) – Blustery weather greatly affected scoring for the entire field Tuesday with Nova Southeastern standing atop the leaderboard at the close of the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational Tuesday.

Rollins finished fourth at its home event with a 51-over par score of 915. The Tars were tied for first heading into the final round, but totaled 320 strokes in the final round to slide down the leaderboard.

NSU was solid in the tough conditions, shooting a 301 to run away with score of 896 (+32) and 17-stroke victory. Montevallo was runner-up with 913 (+49) strokes and Florida Tech was 50-over par (914) in third.

Rollins B team posted an 11th-place finish, shooting scores of 329-328-332 for 989 strokes.

Seher Atwal was the Tars top finisher, taking sixth place with an eight-over 224. The freshman turned in scores of 72-73-79 in her first PKB. Lexie Toth tied or 13th place with four others, shooting a 13-over score of 229. She posted rounds of 73-76-80 at the event.

Madison Lellyo and Selin Timur tied for 23rd with matching scores of 223. Lellyo shot rounds of 72-79-82 while Timur carded 74-76-83. Senior Paige Lyle tied for 48th with rounds of 82-83-79 (+28).

Viviana Vazquez led the Rollins B team, tying for 35th place with a 21-over par 237. She shot scores of 78-78-81. Julie Steinbauer tied for 51st place with a 30-over 245, shooting rounds of 79-82-85.

Sara Riascos took 62nd place after scores of 87-82-82 (+35), Shyanne Lovan tied for 65th with 255 strokes (85-86-84) and Julia Malone finished 76th with a score of 270 (93-91-86).

Rollins quickly hits the road for its next event, the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, California March 16-17.
