WINTER PARK, Fla. (January 21, 2012) - Five Rollins swimmers competed for the last time in Alfond Pool Saturday as both Tars men's and women's squads fell to Daytona State in the 2011-12 home finale.

Rollins women were turned back by the Falcons 192-68 while the men fell 209-50.

Leandra Lima had a part in three runner-up finishes to lead Rollins. The senior was second in the 50-yard backstroke in 28.91, just .28 seconds out of first. She was also runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke and joined Katie Gentsch, Christine Bianco and Samantha Sigaty for a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.55).

Gentsch added second place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke in 34.11 and the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:14.51. Sigaty was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 26.32.

Grace Alexander posted a time of 11:01.16 in the 1000-yard freestyle to finish second while Jenny Nilson took second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.54.

Lima, Bianco, Sigaty and Stephanie Decker teamed to finish runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.83.

For the men, Mike Weinstein, Taylor Powers, Tim Simpson and Nate Burn teamed to finish third in the 200-yard medley relay, posting a time of 1:41.01.

Weinstein, the reigning Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week, added a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.95) and a third in the 100-yard freestyle (48.17).

Simpson took third in the 100-yard butterfly in 55.29 and the 50-yard fly with a time of 25.14.

Powers finished third in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.50 while Brian Sanborn was third in both the 100-yard backstroke (57.10) and 100-yard IM (57.07).

Rollins will be back in the pool Saturday, Jan. 28 at Florida Tech. Competition is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
