CHARLESTON, S.C. (September 14,2011) - The Rollins sailing team took part in a busy weekend for the Tars with both the A division and B division sailing in six races.
The Tars open the season with finishing sixth out of the 15 team event on the waters in front of Patriot Pointe. Rollins looks to build on a successful 2010 campaign, which saw the Tars average a third place finish towards the end of the season.
Leading the way for Rollins in the A division was Ian Nora (skipper) and Ramona Snowden (crew), placing third for the Tars. Also with a strong showing in the B division Johnathan Ricks (skipper) and Caroline Leed (crew) placed seventh.
Both division had good weather with plenty of sunshine and southwest winds at six to seven mph. The races were delayed due to strong currents in the area on both days, but calmer waters prevailed with both divisions sailing a busy schedule.
