ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (September 20, 2011)- The Rollins sailing team took to the waters of the USCG/Bayboro Basin to comepete in South Points #2, which saw the Tars finish fifth out of 12 teams.

Conditions were ripe for good racing with an east wind of 6-7 knots and calm waters. As the racing heated up, the conditions started to settle down and then eventually the wind died. There was 16 races in the event with four sets of races in each division.

Ian Nora (skipper) and Andrew Shipman (crew) sailed for the Tars in the A division, while Mitchell Watkins (skipper) and Katelyn Ruppert (crew) represented Rollins in the B division.

Rollins will host South Points #3, Saturday, September 24 with 10 teams scheduled to participate, including two all-female teams for the A and B division.
