WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 27, 2011)- The Rollins sailing team hosted South Points #3 on the waters of Lake Virginia this past weekend. The Tars came home to finish seventh in the event and this marked the first time that Rollins fielded an all-female team in both divisions.
Conditions were ripe for sailing as the wind came from the north, providing enough wind for three races in each division. The worsening conditions proved to be difficult for the Tars as they were not able to maintain the leads they built up.
Sailing for A division was Caroline Leed (skipper) Sarah Lugo (crew), while the B division was represented by Ramona Snowden (skipper) Katelyn Ruppert (crew). Rollins will travel to Gainesville to participate in South Points #4.
