SAINT LEO, Fla. (March 28, 2012)- The fourth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team picked up their second victory over Saint Leo, defeating the Lions 20-2, Wednesday evening. Rollins stays perfect on the season with an 11-0 record, while Saint Leo falls to 4-7 in their inaugural campaign.

The Tars came out of the gate firing on all cylinders scoring six unanswered goals to start the game. Rollins played well defensively, limiting the Lions to two first half goals, while the Blue and Gold racked up 17 in the opening frame.

Cat Kelley, Alley Rhinehart and Sarah Ann Showell tallied two goals apiece in the first half to pace the offense. The trio helped pepper the frame with 16 shots and saw the Tars go 3-for-4 on free position shots in the period along with a perfect 15-for15 on clearing attempts.

The Tars used an aggressive game-plan to jump out and maintain a lead, which saw Rollins commit 18 fouls in the half, compared to nine from the Lions. This paid dividends as the Tars were able to generate 11 miscues by Saint Leo and only surrendered three turnovers.

The second half saw the defense ratchet up a notch with the Lions unable to crack the scoreboard and the Tars posting seven more tallies to round out the scoring. Again Rollins was nearly perfect in clearing attempts, which saw them clear 6-of-7 and score on 2-of-3 free position shots.

Tori Snow and Kelley ended the evening with three goals apiece, while Ginevra Czech, Erica Pagliarulo, Mo Imel, Rhinehart and Showell each tallied two markers of their own. Kelley also collected two helpers on the evening, while Caroline Lamere picked up the other one.

Steph Wiedenhofer, Sophie Townsend and Mary Stufano also picked up goals for the Tars, while Elyse De Lisle and Vasiliki Barakos combined to shutdown the Lions offense.

The duo combined for eight saves and only allowed two goals in 60 minutes of action.

Rollins will be back in action April 4 when they host Converse College at Barker Family Stadium.
