WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 3, 2012) - After holding the fourth spot in the IWLCA poll for consecutive weeks the Rollins women's lacrosse team reached another milestone, moving up one notch to No.3 in the latest poll, it was announced Tuesday morning.
The Tars have racked up five wins against ranked opponents with just three games left in the regular season, including a showdown with No.15 Florida Southern on the road. Rollins has used a potent combination of strong defense and quick striking offense to outscore opponents by 11 goals per game.
Offensively, the Tars average 18 goals per game with nine players tallying double-digit points and couple this with a defense that only allows seven goals per game the Tars own a perfect 11-0 record.
Cat Kelley has been the dominant force on the offensive end with 28 goals and 15 assists to lead the team in points with 43. Erica Pagliarulo leads the team with 30 goals this season and has been a tough assignment for defenses because of her quickness and feel for the game
Rollins will welcome Converse College to Winter Park for their matchup on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
