DENVER, Colo. (April 29, 2012) - The Rollins women's lacrosse team had their bid for a perfect season come up short against Regis, falling to the Rangers 14-13 to end their season with a record of 15-1. The two game road trip concluded the regular season for the Blue and Gold and now will await the NCAA Selection Show to find the location of the program's first ever NCAA appearance.

The Tars started out strong, scoring four of the first five goals in the first half, but the Rangers responded finishing out the opening 30 minutes with a 5-2 spurt to draw the game even after one period of play.

Offensively, Tori Snow led the way with three goals, including a first half marker that propelled the Tars to the early lead.  Also fueling the attack was Cat Kelley and Erica Pagliarulo as the duo notched two goals of their own.  Rollins used a balanced scoring attack with nine different players registering points, while four Tars collected multi-point efforts.

Rollins came out of the break and scored the first goal of the second half to regain the lead, but it was short-lived as the Rangers scored four unanswered goals to reach a three-goal lead.

The Tars came back with two tallies of their own to draw within one, but Regis responded with a goal to push the advantage to two with 15:48 left in the game.  Sophie Townsend, Kelley, Snow and Pagliarulo led the Tars on 4-0 scoring steak to regain the lead at 13-11 with 11:36 remaining in the final stanza.

Regis was not done and answered quickly with three goals of their own, including the game-winner with 31 seconds left by Margaret Nahrup to give the Rangers a historic upset.

Elyse De Lisle was strong in the effort with seven saves on 21 shots, but could not lead the Tars to victory in order to finish off the perfect season.
