WINTER PARK, Fla. (August 10, 2012) - Rollins Director of Athletics Pennie Parker has announced staffing changes in preparation for the 2012-13 sports season.
Former Senior Athletic Trainer Paul Giannotti has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, Brittainy Daiger is the new Compliance Assistant and Mike J. Miller will serve as the department's official liaison to Rollins Advancement.
Giannotti is a 10-year veteran of the department and oversees the medical care of its nearly 400 student-athletes. He now has an expanded role within the department while continuing to oversee the athletic training staff of four. Giannotti will take on more administrative duties within athletics and move his office to the new Rollins Health Center off Fairbanks Ave.
Daiger, a 2010 graduate of Rollins, moves into the compliance department after serving as women basketball assistant coach the past two seasons. She was a three-year starter for the Tars on the hardwood and, as a coach, was instrumental in team's run to the NCAA Division II semifinals in 2012. Daiger will assist Asst. AD for Compliance Margie Sullivan in student-athlete and staff education of NCAA compliance rules.
Miller (MBA '09) will represent the Rollins Advancement office within Athletics. He will focus on major gift philanthropy and support the building of relationships between coaches and donors. Miller previously played collegiate baseball at the University of Florida.
The first practices of the 2012-13 season start Monday, Aug. 13 with men's and women's soccer and volleyball kicking off their preseasons. Volleyball will host the Rollins Invitational Aug. 31-Sept. 1 in the first events of the new year while men's soccer welcomes Embry-Riddle Aug. 31. Women's soccer starts its season Sept. 1 at Metro State in Denver.
