PENSACOLA, Fla. (February 12, 2012) - The Rollins Tars baseball team suffered a 4-1 loss to the No. 4 West Florida Argonauts Sunday afternoon at Jim Spooner Field.

Nick Adams and Zach Persky combined for six of the seven team hits, while Adams scored the Tars' lone run.  Persky had the RBI, along with two stolen bases.  Both tied their season-high of three hits apiece.

Unlike the previous two games, West Florida was first on the board taking a 1-0 lead in the opening frame. 

Rollins went scoreless through the first two innings before tying the score at 1-1 in the third.  Adams doubled to left center and then scored on a Persky RBI single.

West Florida used three pitchers against the Tars, keeping Rollins scoreless in the final six innings of play.  The fourth-ranked Argos tacked on a run in the fourth to break the tie and added on another two in the sixth.

Mike Howard (0-1) was charged with the loss allowing five hits, three earned runs and five walks, while striking out five over 5.2 innings.  Third baseman Anthony Figliolia made his debut on the hill as the closer for the Tars fanning two in one inning of work.

West Florida starting pitcher Jake Stephens (1-0) earned the win to sweep the Tars in the weekend series.  Stephens tossed six complete innings, while strikeout out nine.  Bobby Parker (SV, 4) picked up his third save in two days and fourth on the season.

The Tars will head back to the friendly confines of Alfond Stadium where they will host the Bentley Falcons for four beginning on Thursday, Feb. 16.  First pitch is slate for 6 p.m.  Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at
