Tars Pass USF to Take 17th at Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. (April 3, 2011) - The Rollins women's golf team shot its best round of the weekend on Sunday, carding 306 strokes to finish 17th at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate.

The Tars turned in scores of 317-308-306 to finish with 931 strokes, just nine shots out of a top-10 finish. Tennessee won the event with a score of 863 while Tulsa (893) was second and Tulane (898) third.

Senior Joanna Coe led the Tars contingent, finishing tied for 39th with a score of 230. She carded a 78 in the opening round and finished with back-to-back rounds of 76.

Fabia Rothenfluh, Brianna Seo and Cecilia Kleinert all tied for 64th place with scores of 235. Rothenfluh carded 80-78-77 on the weekend while Seo hung scored of 79-77-79. Kleinert had the best round of Sunday, shooting a two-over par 74 after scores of 80-81 the first two rounds. Elin Marcsdottir totaled 239 (81-77-81) and finished 75th.

The Tars will now enter postseason play, taking part in the 2011 Sunshine State Conference championships April 18-19 in Boca Raton.
