ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 12, 2011) - The fifth-ranked Rollins Tars remain in second place on the second day of competition at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships held at The Meadows Golf Course.
After opening championship play with a record setting first round, Rollins shot a 300 to put the Tars 19 strokes behind leader Nova Southeastern (283-291-574). Sunshine State Conference foe Florida Southern stands in third, five strokes behind the Tars.
The No. 5 Tars are led by Fabia Rothenfluh as she improved three spots to tie for fifth with a two-over-par 146 (73-73). Tied for seventh are Cecilia Kleinert (69-78) and Joanna Coe (76-71) with a three-over-par 147.
Brianna Seo shot rounds of 75 and 78 to combine for a 153 to land her in a four-way tie for 19th. Shooting a156 in two rounds is Elin Marcsdottir.
Nova Southeastern's Taylor Collins leads the field with a seven-under-par 137.
Play will continue through Sunday at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.
