RICHMOND, Va. (March 27, 2012) - Freshman Kayla Sciupider finished second individually and led Rollins to a second place team finish at the University of Richmond Spider Intercollegiate.
Rollins was second after day one with rounds of 309-300 and kept pace with a 306 Tuesday to finish with 915 strokes.
St. John's University took the title by four strokes over the Tars, shooting rounds of 301-305-305 (911). Georgetown was third with a score of 921 (298-315-308).
Sciupider earned the first top-five finish of her career, taking second among the 83 participants. The newcomer turned in scores of 77-72 on Monday and finished with a 78 Tuesday to post an 11-over score of 227.
Elin Marcsdottir tied for third place, two shots back of her teammate with a score of 229. The junior turned in scores carded rounds of 76-73-80 over the event.
Fabia Rothenfluh gave the Tars three in the top-10, finishing tied for ninth place. She turned in back-to-back rounds of 78 Monday and posted a 75 Tuesday to total 231 strokes.
Clara Teixeira finished tied for 11th place, shooting 232 strokes (80-77-75). Jennifer So was alone in 36th place with scores of 78-86-78 (242).
Rollins will finish the regular season April 6-7 at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate.
