SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. (September 18, 2012) - The Rollins women's golf team placed sixth at the Louisville Cardinal Cup to open up the season as the 11th-ranked Tars carded a 309 in the final round of tournament play.
Rollins turned in a final score of 912 (297-306-309) and stayed steady in sixth from the previous day. Host Louisville took the tournament title as the Cardinals registered a score of 896. Missouri jumped one spot and was one stroke back of the leaders with an 897. Chattanooga (901), Cincinnati (905) and Maryland (907) rounded out the top-five.
Freshman Annie Dulman remained the Tars' leader as she shot a 3-over-par 219 (72-72-75) for a tie for fourth while Kayla Sciupider shot a 227 (72-77-78) to place her in a tie for 21st.
Elin Marcsdottir and Momo Sakuragi each tied for 51st with a total score of 236. Kelly Krusoe made the biggest improvement on the links as she carded a 79 on the final day to vault her seven spots. She tied for 59th (80-80-79).
Rollins next heads up the road to Daytona Beach as they compete in the Daytona State Lady Falcon Invitational set for September 22-23.
