INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 26, 2011) - For the second-straight week, there was no change atop the NCAA Division II South Region rankings as both Rollins' men's and women's teams ranked second.
The Tars men, ranked No. 5 in the nation with a record of 12-2, stands second behind Christian Brothers from the Gulf South Conference. Sunshine State Conference foes Barry and Lynn sit third and fourth while Alabama-Huntsville, West Florida, Saint Leo and Florida Tech round out the poll.
The top four teams in the final ranking receive bids to the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. Rollins has served as the top seed and host each of the last two seasons.
Rollins is on the road against Florida Southern in the regular season finale on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Their match scheduled at Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday, Oct. 29 has been canceled.
The Tars women, ranked 12th in the latest NSCAA Division II poll at 11-2-1, rank behind Saint Leo in the South Region poll. Florida Tech is third, followed by Tampa and Nova Southeastern. Lynn, Florida Southern, West Florida, North Alabama and Valdosta State complete the rankings.
The top six teams by season's end earn trips to NCAA postseason play with the top two seeds hosting half of the bracket.
The Tars play twice in the final week of the season, first on the road against Florida Southern on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. They then host Eckerd on Friday, Oct. 28 on Senior Day at 7 p.m.
