WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 13, 2013) - In one of the bigger recruiting classes in recent program history, eight high school seniors have signed on to continue their soccer careers at Rollins, head coach Alicia Milyak Schuck announced Wednesday.
Joining the 2013 women's soccer squad are Kelly McCormack, Ali Jenkins, Samantha Collin, Mackenzie Miller, Paxton Sickler, Mora Johnson, Emma Bloom, and Megan Block. (Player profiles below)
The Tars ended 2012 with an overall record of 12-5-2, 7-1 in the SSC, earning their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Tars lost three key seniors from a talented 2012 team but Coach Milyak Schuck reloaded with a solid class of incoming freshmen.

Kelly McCormack (Jacksonville, FL) Defender/Midfielder Creekside High School - 4.26 GPA High School: Creekside High School Varsity, District Champions 2012-2011, 42 career goals and 40 assists. Club: Creeks Clash U8-U17 - Disney Chamions (2012,2013) Ponte Vedra U18 Personal: Born: February 19th, 1995 Kelly: I chose Rollins after attending an ID Camp and fell instantly in love with the campus. Not to mention the school has an amazing academic reputation. It'll be nice having small classrooms to really get to know the professors. And the fact that I even get the opportunity to play soccer at Rollins, I knew it was the school for me. I can't wait to get training with my new coaches and teammates. Coach Milyak Schuck: Kelly has a very strong club background having spent a few years at Creeks Clash and then her U18 season at Ponte Vedra. She is a very hard worker, aggressive, good with the ball and she will be able to play a variety of positions for us over the next four years. We are very excited to have Kelly joining us in 2013. |

Ali Jenkins (Tallahassee, FL) Central Defender Lincoln High School - 3.98 GPA High School: Lincoln High School Varsity, District Chamions 2009/10 Club: Ponte Vedra Storm, 2010/11 FL State Cup Champions, FL League Champions, 2012 Disney Showcase Champions Personal: Born: October 18th, 1994 Ali: I chose Rollins College for more reasons than I can list! Rollins' regional reputation, its high level of academics and quality soccer presented me with the exact balance I was looking for. The campus stunned me the moment I saw it, and the feeling that you look for on a visit was instantly there. The surrounding lake and amazing soccer complex are great perks too. The coaches are people I want to work hard for and the players have impressed me with their skills and personalities. As a native Floridian, I am happy Rollins is close to home and that my parents can attend many of my games. I could not be happier that I found a school that fits me as well as Rollins College! Coach Milyak Schuck: The first time we saw Ali play was in her U16 State Cup Semi Final with Ponte Vedra, at that time we knew we wanted Ali to be a Rollins player. She has all the attributes to be a top defender in the SSC; she is very fast, reads the game well and is composed in possession. She has an inner drive to be the best and hopefully she can achieve that with Rollins in her four year career. Ali has won State Cup's with her Ponte Vedra team so she knows what it takes to win championships. |

Samantha Collin (Oviedo, FL) Midfielder Hagerty High School - 4.0 GPA High School: Hagerty High School Varsity, Seminole Athletic Conference Champions 2011/12 & 2012/13, 2 times 1st Team All District, led team to a record 92 wins during her career. Club: CFK (1998-2012) - 2012 State cup Champions, Southern Regional Quarterfinals (2012), Orlando City ECNL (2012/13) Personal: Born: September 26th, 1994 Sam: I chose Rollins because I know I will be in an environment to exceed athletically as well as academically. The soccer at Rollins is competitive and highly regarded as one of the best teams in the country. I love the tight knit feel of the small school that will allow me to develop personal relationships with my professors and participate in a wide variety of campus activities. Every time I pass Rollins, I get a little more anxious to start here in the fall. It seems like Rollins has been in my backyard my entire life, yet there is so much opportunities that I have soon to discover. Coach Milyak Schuck: Sam is a local kid that we have known for a very long time. She has a very strong club background and has won a state championship with CFK and is now a key player in Orlando City's ECNL team. As a central midfielder Sam see's the game quickly and is extremely good in possession. We're excited that Sam is coming to play at Rollins next season. |

Mackenzie Miller (Albuquerque, NM) Midfield/Forward Albuquerque Academy - 4.17 GPA High School: Albuquerque Academy Varsity, 4 x State Champions, 4 x 1st Team All State, 35 Goals senior year. Club: Rio Vista Eagles FC Personal: Born: July 30th 1994 Mackenzie: Rollins reaches out to people from all over the country, so it is well known where I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since I already knew about Rollins, it seemed like a good fit for me: great academics, highly competitive soccer, and it is in Florida! Little did I know, it was actually a perfect fit for me. When I first stepped on the beautiful campus, I could already feel a sense of community that you cannot find with bigger colleges. After meeting the coaching staff and watching the team interact on and off the field, I realized that these are the type of phenomenal people that I want to share my next four years with. I'm thankful and excited that this is will be my home away from home for the next four years. Coach Milyak Schuck: Mackenzie will be coming to Rollins from Albuquerque, NM. She plays club soccer at Rio Vista and is a four-time High School State Champion as well as being the leading scorer in NM with 35 goals. Mackenzie has good movement in the attacking third, and she can finish with both feet and her head. We are looking forward to Mackenzie's four year career at Rollins. |

Paxton Sickler (Apopka, FL) Midfielder Wekiva High School - 4.0 GPA High School: Wekiva High School Varsity, 3 x 2nd Team All State, 101 Career goals & 76 Career Assists (School records) Club: Florida Rush (2008-10) - FL State Cup Champion 2009 CFK (2011/12) FL State Champion 2012, Southern Region Quarter finals (2012) Orlando City ECNL (2012/13) Personal: Born: September 30th, 1994 Paxton:For the longest time, I had no idea where I wanted to go to college. I kept my options open and kept in contact with Alicia and Andy. They would come to many of our games and I got the feeling I could not pass up amazing coaches like them. After visiting Rollins for the first time and having a real tour, I loved it. The campus is beautiful and so are the surrounding areas. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to stay that close to home. But I started to realize that I would make a huge mistake if I didn't choose Rollins. Rollins has a great reputation for sports as well as academics. I knew I would be able to get the best of both worlds. And being close to my family and them being able to visit and come watch me play is a real perk as well. I couldn't be more excited in any other decision I have ever made! Coach Milyak Schuck: We are thrilled to have Paxton coming to Rollins. She was a standout player at CFK scoring two goals in their State Cup Final win in 2012. In her U18 season she is competing with Orlando City in the ECNL. Paxton is an attacking player with fantastic technique; she can finish consistently from distance and has an excellent range of passing. She has the ability to be a big player within the SSC and will add a great deal to our Rollins attack.

Mora Johnson (Orlando, FL) Forward Freedom High School - 3.2 GPA High school: Freedom High School Varsity soccer team (2009-2011); freshman of the year (2009-2010); MVP (2010-2011); first team all-district (2010-2011) Club: CFK - FL State Champions 2012, Southern Region Quarter Finals (2012), Player of the year 2010-2011. Orlando City ECNL (2012-13) ODP Region 3 Camp Personal: Born: April 3rd, 1995 Mora: Rollins felt extremely welcoming from the very beginning. The coaching staff is supportive and encouraging and also represented the drive I have for growth and achievement in both academics and in soccer. The campus is the perfect size with a great student to faculty ratio. Rollins is known for their academic excellence so I know that when I graduate; I will be well prepared for any endeavor I undertake. Rollins is also known for their excellent athletic program. The sports teams are accomplished and I am extremely excited to participate in the success of the soccer team while I am a student at Rollins. I feel Rollins College is the perfect place for me. I look forward to becoming a part of the Rollins family and adding to their list of achievements. Coach Milyak Schuck: Mora is a one off type of player that can change a game at any point. She has blazing speed, ability to beat defenders on the dribble; she creates chances and scores goals. Mora has been an outstanding youth player at CFK and Orlando City ECNL. She has a winner's mentality that will allow her to fit right in at Rollins. We are eager to see Mora have a big impact at Rollins over the next four years.

Emma Bloom (Maitland, FL) Forward Lake Highland Prep - 3.9GPA High School: Lake Highland Prep Varsity, District Champions 2012 & 2013, Regional Champions 2011, All State Team 2013, District 11 MVP 2013, NSCAA Scholar All American 2012 Club: CFK - FL State Champions 2012, Southern Region Quarter Finals (2012), Player of the year 2010-2011. Orlando City ECNL (2012-13) Emma: I've grown up near Rollins and can remember going to watch the soccer games ever since I was a kid. I have always loved the atmosphere on campus. After meeting the coaches and talking to the other players, I knew that Rollins was the best fit for me. I am very excited to get to spend the next four years at such a great school. Coach Milyak Schuck: Emma is a player that will add another aspect to our attack going forward with her ability to hold up the ball, link play and her powerful finishing. Emma is a State Cup winner with CFK and is now a key player on the Orlando City ECNL U18's. We are excited to see Emma develop into a prolific goal scorer over the next four years. |

Megan Block (Jacksonville, FL) Defender The Bolles School - 4.0GPA High School: Bolles Varsity, Regional Semi Final 2012. Club: Ponte Vedra Storm (2008-2013) - 2010/11 FL State Cup Champions, FL League Champions, 2012 Disney Showcase Champions Personal: April 6th, 1995 Megan: I chose Rollins because I knew that this school was the perfect atmosphere for me. The small size and the ranked academic program really fit the type of college that I imagined myself attending. The first time I visited I fell in love with the campus and the people I met made my experience even more amazing. Participating in the life of a Rollins student during my visit made me even more excited. Along with the academics, being able to compete on a highly competitive soccer team like at Rollins was a dream I always had. Coach Milyak Schuck: We have followed Megan for a long time with her Ponte Vedra team. She has developed into a key player for them and she can play anywhere across the back line and in midfield. Megan is very quick and she is good in possession. She is a State Cup champion so she will bring the experience of winning key games and lifting Championships. We are looking forward to seeing Megan on the field for Rollins this coming year. |
